This month, "Second Glance", an upscale thrift shop featuring clothing, small household items, jewelry, linens, books etc. celebrated its 4th birthday. Second Glance is The Family Pantry's thrift shop located at 4 Cross Street in Harwich Port (right in back of George's Pizza) and is run entirely by volunteers including the wonderful manager, Lorraine Cowhey, who also is on the pantry's Board of Directors.

A Garden Kick-off event was held on Wednesday February 2, 2011 to introduce the Family Pantry Garden and solicit time, materials, and labor that will make this garden project a success.

Many organizations make donations to The Family Pantry throughout the year but the generosity of so many is never more evident than during the Holidays.  The Davenport Companies is an outstanding example of this generosity as they reach out to The Family Pantry and other helping organizations with much needed donations.....and for that we are so very grateful.

Can you believe that it is almost Thanksgiving again? The pantry volunteers certainly can tell because we are busier than ever. We are taking sign-ups for turkeys and preparing for the day that we distribute the turkeys and all the fixings. Once again the 5th graders from Holy Trinity School and the Student Council Members from D-Y High School will be assisting Director, Elizabeth Duggan to prepare the bags with all the fixings for distribution day. If anyone wants to help we can always use frozen turkeys

The Cranberry Valley Men's Association recently presented a $1,500 check to The Family Pantry. This money was raised from their member tournamment.
